Create and test animation without coding help

I am new to sprite and reviewed and a few posts here but I am not sure if I get the best efficient approach.
For instance, I have one still image, called bunny.png and I want to create animation from just one picture.

My goal is to create bunny1.png, bunny2.png, bunny3.png, bunny4.png for animation. Question1. What’s the easy way to make bunny1, 2, etc.png? I tried GIMP by cut, copy, paste, rotate I am not satisfied with my progress, it is time-consuming. I am not sure if I am doing ok in the edit process, which drives me uncertain.

Question2: Once I have bunny1.png, bunny2.png, bunny3.png, bunny4.png, what’s the easy way to test if animation sequence is good? I tried to make a gif with gimp’s layer and animation/play, but I found it inefficient, there maybe another efficient way by just using the png pictures without adding them to layers(I think it is extra effort to add layers just for testing purpose)

thank you!
Bill

You can run animations in timeline with photoshop. This one is done with Photoshop Timeline animation. [import]uid: 13560 topic_id: 28453 reply_id: 114925[/import]

Glad to know that, I will try that once I have photoshop. I am using gimp, photoshop elements. I am very new to animation.
Given you one still image, such as a bunny.png, how will you create an animation in a short way? thanks.

you can’t do much with just one image, you can rotate, move up/down/left/right, scale etc.

if you want you want your game animations look good then you need more frames to animate, my animation is just 6 frames so you don’t need that many.

Trial and error, thats how you will learn. [import]uid: 13560 topic_id: 28453 reply_id: 114979[/import]

Nice to learn that. Looks there is no short way. It is really time-consuming I wish I can hire someone to do it but at beginning I have to do myself. thanks very much Lano! [import]uid: 150242 topic_id: 28453 reply_id: 115267[/import]
