creative commons 0 license

Hi everyone, about to release my first app very soon…

i was just wondering if anyone has any experience using “creative commons 0 license” files. specifically, sound clips from freesound.org, and pics from openclipart.com.

My understanding is that you do not have to attribute/credit anything, and that they are 100% public domain items. no copyright, no royalty.

Have I understood correctly? or is it mandatory (or nice to have) a credits page in the app to list them? is it sufficient to just list them in the sourcecode (kinda like MIT license comment in the game templates found here)

I definately want to do this the correct and ethical way. some help would be appreciated as usual.

also, does anyone here do a poor mans copyright with your apps (send yourself a copy of your code via post office). thoughts/comments?

thanks in advance,

Moved to off topic where you will hopefully get more answers.

Have a read of this RE CC0 - http://creativecommons.org/about/cc0
