Custom Font and First Gen iTouch 3.1.3

I have a custom font working fine with my iPhone4 and iPad and also in simulator. I just happened to install my game on old old v3.1.3 first gene iTouch and the fonts are invisible. I know I have done the settings right because it works on newer devices.

Is custom font build not meant for pre 4.0? or pre 3.20?

As far as I know (I recently read it, but can’t find the link anymore) using custom fonts is not possible with the 1. Generation.

But could you tell me how you get the custom fonts to work.
