Daily build crashes, requests mysterious plugins - help!

Hi all,

I’m trying to utilize the latest daily build, but unfortunately it is causing the simulator to crash unexpectly with the message:

Corona Terminal: line 9: 74943 Segmentation fault: 11  “$path/Corona Simulator.app/Contents/MacOS/Corona Simulator” $*

Before it does so, it tells me the project needs certain plugins to run, offers me the button to download them, but does not appear to do anything nor does it tell me what these plugins are.

What makes it more confusing is my project runs and builds fine using build 2012.971.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks -

Nick

I’ve eliminated the plugin issue (by eliminating some lines in build settings) but the crash still occurs - any help is appreciated.

Which build are you using?  The latest daily build may not really be the latest and it really helps to have the build number.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for replying. The build is 2013.1150 –

My problem has been compounded by the fact that the old version I was using, 2012.971, now fails to build, telling me I have a trial subscription and my password to verify my Pro membership is invalid. Could they be linked? Did I muck something up by installing a daily build?

Nick

Hi Nick,

You should try a more current public build like 1137 or 1076. Build 971 is now two full public builds back, so it’s somewhat expected that you’re having various issues, especially with plugins which are quite new.

So, please update to one of the more recent builds (I suggest 1137) and report back the results.

Thanks,

Brent

As for your experience with 1150, get 1151, there were some plugin fixes.

Thanks guys. Indeed, I tried the latest stable build and everything is working great with that build, so I’m satisfied.

Still puzzled about the Daily Build, though, but I guess that’s the nature of the beast - was hoping to use the new OUYA-specific features, but I guess I will just wait until a more stable build emerges. Maybe it’s because I’m already trying to read key events and it’s conflicting with the new features? Who knows -

Thanks again –

Nick

Hi @nicksantan, Daily builds are usually reasonably stable, but because we are including cutting edge features some times we break a thing or two.  There were a couple of plugin bugs that we discovered edge cases that needed fixed and those fixes created some regression issues.   Generally those are ironed out in the next daily build or so.  If you want the new keyboard/mouse support, you will need a fairly recent daily build.   I think the current is 1153 and I’m not seeing any issues crop up in the forums like we did for 1145 and 1150.
