Data Storage Question

The log shows the following:

File: .

File: …

File: Player.json

I also modified the code to display the results using text so I could test this on an Android device build, and I got the same results as above.

This morning I converted all my audio files to a lower quality MP3 format using some free software I found online and this reduced my launch data usage from 2.94 MB to 1.36 MB on Android.

Tonight I will be testing the same thing on an iOS build to see if this reduces the data usage as well. I am also going to use the JonBeebe’s app that Caleb mentioned above to convert the audio to .CAF and compared the difference between the two iOS builds.

Let me know if there are any other tests I can run as well.

Thank you again for your support, Joshua.

Well at least you proved that there are no other files in your Documents directory.  So, that’s good.

For Android apps, that is unfortunately normal behavior until we can find a why to get our audio library to extract audio files from within the APK without any performance issues.  We want to look into this after we release Google expansion file support, because at that point, it should be okay to provide APKs and expansion files with zero compression for fast access.

On iOS, the only other file that I can think of that’s being generated in a temp directory is for launchpad analytics.  You can turn launchpad analytics off if you don’t want to use it.  See the documentation here…

After reducing the quality of the audio and then changing it to the .caf format last week, Apple finally approved the app today. I guess it reduced the data usage to some degree.

Thank you all for the help in tackling this issue. It feels great to finally see AirTime HD on all these marketplaces.
