Database/Asset protection

Hi there,

With the prevalence and ease of accessing app files and the documents folder in our apps nowadays, I was wondering if there are ways to protect both our assets and databases?

For example, SQL Cipher implementation for SQLite3? Any other methods would be appreciated too.

When i add an app in Itunes Connect, it asks about Encryption since i am not in the USA.

How would encryption affect this situation please?
