Last year I created an Android application that got just shy of 5,000 downloads. It’s just a simple schedule of my favorite team, the Detroit Lions.

Since the new schedule just came out on Tuesday I decided what better first application to write then to re-vamp it using Corona and dabble with some of the new UI…

I’m very excited that I created this application in a little over 3 hours (including making all the images for screen shots AND getting through first time deployments in both Android Market as well as the App Store)

Here’s a quick screen shot…
I wanted to start with something simple to get through the deployment processes for my first time using CoronaSDK, this fit the bill perfectly and now have my schedule at my finger tips. I’m planning on adding some things before the season arrives and I’m hoping I can get over 10,000 downloads now that I’m on iOS and Android markets.

Hi Croisened,

It’s a great idea for a first app as you have mentioned. Good luck hitting your target goal of 10K.

I really like this idea because it’s small, it’'s done well and it’s a great example of what others should be doing for first time apps. It looks like you’ve really accomplished what you set out to do.

It’s simple and looks pretty good. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Shawn! Yeah I definitely am a fan of starting small on any new toolset, it’s quite a bit to take in for that first deployment, but I am feeling great about how it went, now on to the next thing…

I have a business app to make next then I’ll tackle a game!
