Developer Program With Apple

Signing up to be a developer with Apple. I am still getting the business stuff set up to be a sole proprietor and register as such in my state… but have not done so yet. I have 2 questions if anyone can help:

  1. If I choose individual for now, as ‘apparently’ I can not choose business since I do not have my business name legally registered yet, is it possible at anytime in the following year to just change to business? And is there extra cost to do that?

  2. Is there anyway I can sign up for the individual plan, but be sure that my company name shows under developed by, instead of my name?

Thanks much! [import]uid: 35148 topic_id: 26190 reply_id: 326190[/import]

For question 2, Apple will let you use a mixture of your real name and your company name.

I’m registered with Apple as an individual developer. If you look at one of my apps in iTunes, you will see both my company name and my real name.

My company name appears everywhere except for the seller field (which has my real name).

When you publish your first app, you get to set most of this up. The process didn’t allow me to change the seller field. You are also warned that these fields can never be changed once they are set. So, I think the answer to your first question is no, but I’m not certain.
