I can never seem to remember what “generation” a particular device is, but…
The most recent iPod Touch with Retina display and built-in camera(s): 640x960 resolution (same as iPhone4)
Previous to that: 320x480 pixels.
Other devices to note:
iPad/iPad2 = 768x1024
Galaxy Tab = 600x1024
Android (not sure which models) = 480x854
