Disable 4-finger iOS swipe?

I suppose this is impossible to disable on a per-app basis *by design*, but it’s worth asking anyway: My app makes use of many fingers on the screen at once – is it possible to disable the “4-finger swipe to another app” which the iPad makes possible? I don’t mean disabling it in the iPad settings, but for my app to have it always disabled.

Thanks!! [import]uid: 10284 topic_id: 13610 reply_id: 313610[/import]

PS: Also, the “pinch with 4 fingers to close the app” gesture… which can accidentally close my app as well, as it makes use of 4+ fingers touching simultaneously. [import]uid: 10284 topic_id: 13610 reply_id: 49955[/import]

OK, this is interesting to me and here’s why. First, I was not aware of any “four finger” shenanigans. Second, I wanted to see if anyone has talked about or if there is technology in place for making the device “toddler proof”. I wanted to “lock” the screen so to speak within the App that prevents a toddler or little one from “escaping to the desktop” - I was thinking of a simultaneous three corner screen press to lock/unlock.

Any discussion around this?

This isn’t something that can be disabled from within an application, no. Sorry :frowning: [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 13610 reply_id: 50163[/import]

Thanks Peach. IMO, Apple is preventing certain unique new touch approaches by adding too many non-disablable default gestures. Oh well. [import]uid: 10284 topic_id: 13610 reply_id: 50199[/import]
