display resolution question

Hey all,
Just a quick question. I am setting my app up to work on all iOS platforms. In my config file, I have the iphone 4 width set at 640, and height set at 960. What is the difference between setting to that vs. 320X480? Is 640X960 HD or something? Should I keep it at 320X480? Sorry about the noobieness of the question. Thanks in advance.

This has been asked before I believe - this post is pretty thorough and worth a read; http://www.coronalabs.com/blog/2010/11/20/content-scaling-made-easy/

If you plan on installing on non-retina devices you’d save texture memory by using image suffixes to load appropriately sized images.
