Do I need to do some changes when I use Appodeal for Amazon store?

Hello everyone,

I am learning how to implement ads in my app.

First comes is the most important question:

If the app is built for Amazon store then is it necessary that I should have an Amazon device to test it, won’t the android device work?

I am working with Appodeal before discussing my issue I would like to provide with some details so to eliminate your thinking in that direction and also save your time.

I have signed up with Appodeal followed their documentation and implemented it to my app. My build.settings and other files are correct as I have shared it with appodeal and they have checked it.

Now discussing issue:

On Appodeal dashboard I have chose Amazon as my target app store.

When I build my app through Android Built Setup for Amazon app store as soon as the app launches in my device it hits errors and the app size is finalize to around 10 Mb after built but

When I build my app for Google play store, the app works in my device well it hits error only when its time to show an ad which is obvious and the app size finalizes to around 27 Mb after built.

What I can recognize from the above situation is that when I am using Google as my target app store the plugin for Appodeal is getting involved but when I am building for Amazon it doesn’t.

As Appodeal needs Admob, which is a Google product and I am trying to build for Amazon is there any possibility that it’s creating an issue

OR

Is there any different process to work with app stores other than Google Play store.

Thanks to everyone willing to take part in the above discussion.

Regards,

Swanand Thakur

What errors are you getting?

Amazon sells regular Android devices that contain Google Play and they have their Kindle Fires, which do not. This is a very confusing aspect of building for Amazon.  If I understand, using the legacy Appodeal has Amazon support, the newer modular version does not. But let me see if I can get a more definitive answer about a few things.

Normally though when you choose Store from the Android build dialog, choosing Amazon implies you’re producing a build that would be Kindle Fire compatible (which should still run on Amazon’s normal devices since it impacts all Amazon In App Purchases as well.

That is correct. I am investigating if we can add amazon store support to the new plugin version.

That is correct too.

A little update, Amazon build for Appodeal is possible to add to our new plugin version. It will come up in the next public release.  B)
