Do Updates Go Back to 'What's New?' for Your Category?

I read somewhere that submitting an update to your app will put it back in ‘What’s New?’ for your category in the Apple App Store?

However, I have reason to believe this isn’t the case anymore because:

  1. I recently made an update to my game ‘Doodle Dash!’ and I haven’t noticed any real sales spike as I did when I first launched the game and it was for sure in ‘What’s New?’. I also haven’t noticed it there but I could just be overlooking it, or perhaps it takes more than a few days…

  2. The article that I read that from was at least a year old, so things definitely could have changed.

With that said, does anyone know the answer to that for sure? [import]uid: 7849 topic_id: 1680 reply_id: 301680[/import]

that used to be the case, but around november/december of 2009 they changed it, updates no longer push you to the front of the line. I wish they at least had an “New Updates” page so people could continue to get some new exposure. [import]uid: 8300 topic_id: 1680 reply_id: 5121[/import]

@jonmulcahy: thanks for the reply, I didn’t think I was going to get one. It’s a shame new updates don’t go back to ‘What’s New?’, but I see where they’re coming from… though a New Updates page would be a great idea.

I wonder if Apple has some kind of suggestion box (or if they even honor a thing like that lol)…

Thanks again! [import]uid: 7849 topic_id: 1680 reply_id: 5122[/import]
