If the message was you need to update because you’re using 6.4.x or earlier, you will need to rebuild your apps. The current AdMob V2 plugin is newer and should still work.

If you’re using the current V2 plugin, you’re using a version of AdMob later than 6.4.x. You should be getting ads. I’ve not heard issues on this so far.
We are working on updates to the whole plugin system around AdMob and Google Play Services as it’s impacting the ability to use several plugins together.

Does that mean you started working on this request or is it something else?
I don’t know if/what specific plans are happening for AdMob. Our focus is on getting the dependency problem solved at the moment and build a plugin platform that can work when the plugins need different versions of a core support library.
