Does anybody use iapphost.com or other similar sites?

I am looking for a web host that I will eventually use to market my app. Iaphost.com looks good but I can’t find any live examples. I’m trying to find examples of sites that use http://iapphost.com

Can anybody point me to examples of iapphost sites?
Alternatively, does anybody have suggestions of other similar sites that make the marketing easy for an individual developer?

Thank you in advance. [import]uid: 70259 topic_id: 28384 reply_id: 328384[/import]

There’s also http://app.net [import]uid: 10141 topic_id: 28384 reply_id: 114609[/import]

Have you considered creating your own website? You can set up and customize a simple Wordpress site in a matter of hours and, in my opinion, the long term benefits of a self-hosted solution far outweigh the benefits of using a hosting service. The costs are the same, if not less.

The way I see it, why pay good money to add to some other company’s brand when you could be building equity in your own? With your own site you gain the ability to build exposure through SEO and content marketing, allowing you to expand your reach over time and capture leads through list building.

There’s also the concern of longevity. What happens if your hosted solution is forced/decides to close up shop?

The only advantage I could see in using a hosted landing page solution is if their market influence actually resulted in increased conversions for your app. Since I’ve yet to see a company actually release data showing increased sales, I don’t see much advantage in using their services. Like I said, with a few hours of simple work you can have your own solution that builds in value over time. [import]uid: 14700 topic_id: 28384 reply_id: 114680[/import]

Well, I’m not sure how much you need to be worried about SEO when it comes to mobile apps. Typically people are really only going to find you when searching on whatever app market they use… not on google…

I would go with iseemtobeaverb and make your own site! [import]uid: 147305 topic_id: 28384 reply_id: 115145[/import]

@budershank

While I agree with you that most potential customers are going to find you through the app store, I would also argue that it makes complete sense from a business/marketing standpoint to build additional traffic funnels to your apps so your business is less reliant on one traffic source.

Personally, I find it utterly strange that more mobile developers don’t take advantage of additional traffic sources to build awareness and sales. In other online businesses, it’s considered suicide NOT to. You see it all the time, especially with affiliate marketers. One minute they’re pulling in thousands a day and then BAM, something changes and they’re back at square one.

Building a community around your brand gives you AMAZING advantages over time. Imagine if your blog or email newsletter had 1000 readers. Rather than fretting about how Apple/Google is going to rank your app you could just push out a blog post or email and immediately funnel traffic to your app. The potential is limitless.

It’s easy to dismiss SEO because it does take time and effort, but building an audience is not out of reach for anyone willing to put in the work. So, yeah, that’s why I say BUILD YOUR OWN SITE!!! :slight_smile: [import]uid: 14700 topic_id: 28384 reply_id: 115218[/import]
