Well, I never said Google is “evil”. And I hope I am wrong, and Google really strives to help and promote indie developers. But while you used your solitary example as proof of their commitment to indies I know of many examples of games with great art and gameplay ignored and buried. I don’t pin that all on Google since there are 100s of apps launching each day and many gems are bound to be lost in that frenzy. I think luck and timing plays a much bigger role than you allude. So congratulations to you for successfully beating the odds! I will now download your game so I can see for myself
Personally, I’ve had mixed success with Amazon apps. But with their current Amazon Coins promotion, Amazon ads promotion, Developer Select program, practically giving away their fire TVs and Fire Phones, and having a huge installed base of customers who are pre-conditioned to actually spend it seems like a platform that is indeed indie-developer friendly and shouldn’t be ignored. This thread of concerned developers is testament to that.
Looking forward to good news from David!
