Does Inmobi work in the UK?

After seeing the Inmobi presentation at the hackathon, I was keen to try it out. I’ve tried running the Inmobi demo app, after obtaining my own appID and putting that in main.lua, but I don’t have any ads showing up. I only see the two buttons to “show next banner” or “hide banner”.

Monitoring the console while the app runs on the iphone, it keeps saying that the “server returned a no-fill”.

Does Inmobi support ads in the UK? Has anyone in the UK managed to get this to work?

Thanks,

Hi Everyone,

Yes, InMobi does support the UK. Our fill rates are extremely high that region, our publisher team just told me it’s over 80% in that market.

Can you tell me how much volume these apps have?

Also, please note that is does take time (up to 7 days) for the system to determine how to categorize your app and find the best advertisers. Perhaps these apps are very new to our system?

@Rob, thanks. That’s good to know. I’ll look into it further tomorrow.

In the meantime, are there any hints / pointers as to what to try next? As I mentioned, I’ve registered, got my Inmobi app ID, and put it into main.lua in quotes. I’m running it on an iPhone 3GS if that makes any difference.

Thanks,

@ec2 It doesn’t seem like low fill rates are your problem. Some common issues I have seen with Ansca apps, people use an ID registered for one OS, but then run the app on another. Our system needs to know what OS the app is running.

It’s possible there is something else happening. Please email ansca@inmobi.com as they can provide a lot more detailed help than I can.

Hi Gregory,

In answer to your question about volumes, I’ve just started testing so am trying out the demo app provided by Ansca. So for the app ID that I obtained, the volume is 1. Yes, that’s small but I think you have to be able to cater for such a small volume since all developers will want to test out the ads before deciding to use it or not.

Hi Eric,

Are you still having issues with testing? Our testing environment is going through a major overall. We expect to have the new one ready in a few weeks.

As for testing out the ads before using InMobi. You’re welcome to do that, but be aware that the system is very sophisticated and optimizes itself based on clicks. If you just run 10, or even just 100 ad impressions, that’s not enough volume for our technology to accurately categorize your app. It takes multiple days and 10,000s of impressions to optimize.

Let me know if you have more questions.
