Is there a way to access a Dropbox account and manipulate/read files from it? [import]uid: 118600 topic_id: 33740 reply_id: 333740[/import]
Hi @wyldkard,
Sorry for the delayed response; I researched this and found out that it’s not yet possible… however, the topic is on the table and more developers seem to be requesting it, so it’s on the radar for the team. I don’t have an ETA or anything, but enough demand (from the community) usually results in a solution sooner than later.
Regards,
Brent

Thanks, Brent. This would definitely be a useful feature, especially for those of us not building games and trying to do something with documents-in-the-cloud. I guess I’ll have to prototype my idea in something like Pythonista until Corona gets some Dropbox love. [import]uid: 118600 topic_id: 33740 reply_id: 134715[/import]

Here’s a link to something I’ve been working on:
http://developer.coronalabs.com/code/dropbox-rest-sample-code
It’s only a start because I am having some problems figuring out how to deal with async http. Corona needs to wait after each attempt to communicate with Dropbox and I’m not sure how to make that happen. I am using network.request() and I wait for the response using a listener. But the response from the listener seems to come after the called function returns.
Right now, I’m just letting the user press buttons to deal with the async network response.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. [import]uid: 104085 topic_id: 33740 reply_id: 136509[/import]
