dropdown menu - how to slide fingers over multiple buttons and pass events along?

Hi

I want to implement a simple dropdown menu like those we use on all desktop application.

I am trying to make this dropdown behaving in the same way.

  1. a click on the button/text then the dropdown appears
  2. a click on the button/text again then the dropdown disappears
  3. a click outside the dropdown the dropdown disappears
  4. mouse over the dropdown and items are highlighted

I have completed (1) - (3) using the standard UI button.

I wonder if anyone can share some tips on how (4) should be done. I guess this is similar to ppl sliding fingers on those virtual pianos.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
