DUCK SPACE - #GameDevLive - Creating games at public events!

Hey folkes,
I figured it’s time to announce my next project.

Watch me developing “DUCK SPACE”, my #‎GameDevLive‬ project for MaGnology 2016 in Hamburg.

I will prepare all assets and develop a tiny game live in 2.5 days at the event using Corona. All visitors can test the game and watch the development process.

One main reason is to show people how much work is going into their beloved games and maybe get them into trying game development themself.

So tell me what you think about the project and test the game if you happen to be in Hamburg at that time
Help this brave feathery fella to defend his home world against waves of asteroids!

Wish I could be there, but rock on.  This is awesome.

Glad you like it. Hope some people come by

Would be great if other people would try #GameDevLive too.

I will tweet during the event at my channel @ScreenHeadMedia

Follow me if you are interested in how it’s going.

Want to share of DUCK SPACEs animations with you

They are created in Spine and I will use an optimzed version of the runtime as well as my own wrapper module, to handle animations easyly.

For all of you who are interested in the development progress during the event, follow me on twitter @ScreenHeadMedia

Of course I will also finish and release the game after the event.

Awesome promo image incoming

Only a few days left till MaGnology 2016!

MaGnology 2016

#‎GameDevLive‬ at MaGnology 2016 was awesome. We met lots of great people and our game was played nearly all the time and was recieved pretty well.

Working in such a noisy enviroment was kinda exhausting, but we got the game pretty far. We implemented most of the core features, like asteroids, basic movement and shooting and even more elaborated stuff like auto aiming turrets, as you can see in the screenshots.

To sum it up, GameDevLive was a success, but there is one major thing we want to improve. Watching somebody code is “interesting” but not very exciting for most people, mostly because changes happen slowly and walls of text aren’t inviting.

So next time, we want to add some graphics creation, either programming the game upfront with shapes and replacing those at the event or creating a game with two people, a programmer and an artist, to get more attention.

After all, we want to say many thanks to all the people who made the MaGnology 2016 possible and all the visitors and the other exhibitors. We hope to be at MaGnology 2017 as well

Below you can see my stand and the games progressfrom left to right one pic for every day:
