I have my first game, created with corona, in review at apple. While it’s in review, I’m already connecting my next game.
It will be something like Jackpack Joyride. An endless runner game, with power ups, different vehicles, … Currently, we’re looking for a suitable game engine. If we’re going 2D, then our choices will be Unity or Corona.
I’ve seen some techniques for developing 2D platform games in Unity and it seems to work well. Since I already developed with Corona, and liked it very much, this is also an option. But I can’t seem to find any techniques about how I could go about creating a game like this.
Do you have any techniques to share about how I could go about creating something like MonsterDash or Jetpack Joyride? I need the levels to be endless and dynamically built with pre made parts that can be randomly spawned.
Is it possible to do this with LIME or some other tool? Is it possible to design the different parts (with pickups, enemies, power ups, vehicles, …) in LIME and then spawn and reorder them dynamically in the game?
