Error 504 after app update

A couple of days ago I did an update to my app on the Google Play store. Once it was actually on the store, I tried to update it and it would say “error 504”. I tried uninstalling my app and re-downloading it but it gave me the same error. Normally I would assume that a 504 error is some sort of network error so I tried both on wifi and on data and still nothing. I even got my friend to try at a different house, on a different phone and it gave the same error so I know its not the network. Any idea what it could be? 

Ive tried searching everywhere for answers but have found none. 

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

504 is a Gateway Timeout Error.

Either the web server  you’re connecting to is timing out, or a proxy between them is timing out.  This would affect any one trying to connect to that server.
