The simulator gives me this message when I want to build:

ERROR: An error occurred during build. The server returned the following message:  
 [Error: A device build error occurred on server.]

what now?
is anybody else getting this error?

Hi, fellows

I am facing the same error on building process on Win 7 Professional 32 bits system. Using androiddebugkey, once trial version do not allow changing the keystore.

Message:
“[Build Error #5] Build Failed. Check the console window for errors”

Have the same problem. Tried it with simple ansca-hello word example. Result is:

Apparently the server is down. Hope they fix it soon. And hope even more that in future Ansca will come up with a way to allow users to build offline, depending on connection speed and server status is a real bottleneck. [import]uid: 48785 topic_id: 12199 reply_id: 44368[/import]

Thanks for the response. I’m relieved to know that the problem has been acknowledged, however, I’m disheartened to know that this occasionally happens.

Is there any place to check for alerts when things like this happen, or is my best bet to check the forums? My clients are reluctant to believe me when I tell them “the server is down - there’s nothing I can do”, so even a message from the Ansca team is very helpful.

loughrank, it’s a rarity - a rarity but a certainty with any server. You have one for long enough and it’s going to come up.

What Ansca does (and I’m not involved with this, so I can’t take any credit) is work to fix it as fast as they can; which is always VERY fast.

I just built (using the last stable release) for both Android and iPhone, no issues.

I’m with corona for about a month now and this was my first “server down show” :slight_smile:

I agree with loughrank. There should be some hint on the site that indicates the server status.

Something like a traffic-light that switches to red when the server is down with some info like “Server will be up in about xx:xx minutes” … and switches back to green when the server’s up again.

In that way you could prevent threads like this popping up everytime there’s an issue.
