Examples of native iOS looking applications (not games) ?

Hi,

Can anyone point me towards some Corona created applications (not games) in the app store that have iOS native looking behavior and components?

I realize that a lot of development in Corona is game-based but Im interested in creating an app that has a combination of browsing content (large images with lots of meta data) as well as creating that content (drag and drop editor). Clearly the second part is very do-able with Corona  The native widgets are fairly new and the demo doesn’t seem to work right in the simulator at least (and doesn’t have a search widget etc etc). Im love to know what the limits are currently.

So I guess iOS like headers, tabs, table view and icons.

Thanks

Look in the showcase and you will find a bunch.

HerbStat is one, another is here; http://blog.anscamobile.com/2012/03/guest-post-corona-asks-the-cheesemonger/

Peach,

Thanks for the response. I have gone through pages and pages of the showcases but its often difficult to tell without installing and trying the app if they are trying to provide a native iOS look and feel (table cell rendering, tabs, header, transitions etc). After the first few attempts I got pretty tired of not finding a working example, hence the question here

The cheesemonger app, for example, has a header but the chrome is (deliberately) very non-standard and the back button text doesn’t actually line up correctly in the button (showing its fake), and each “screen” is mostly graphically custom. Still, very helpful.

Herbstat is clearly not iOS native from the screenshots.

ifactbook looks like it might, but thats 99c just to check

Thanks again
Jonathan

I thought HerbStat was but it has been awhile.

The graphical elements you can set as you like, so you’d simply match up with standards rather than using custom stuff like cheesemonger did.

One other I thought of that may show some more neat features is Nap Keeper, that one is worth a look too I think.

Good luck with your search, there are a LOT of Corona made apps out there so sometimes it takes a little digging because obviously most are games, though there are a ton of utilities too many go for their own style rather than a “native” look.
