expansion file license key

I see a few forum entries that say to put your license key in config.lua.  But it never says where to find this key. When I look on Google I see this:  is this the key they are talking about?

I also see people complaining that this expansion pack stuff doesn’t work.  Does anyone have a code snipet of a check and loop until the expansion file has completed downloading.  It seems that on a slow network it could take a while.  What does your app do while that is going on?  A long loading loop?

Yes, that is the license key. It’s a really long string.

I’ve never deployed an expansion pack, but our documentation says all images and audio are put in the expansion pack and the .apk will have the code. Your app will prompt the user to download the expansion pack. Download times are of course dependant on network connections.

Thanks for clarifying.

Of course, I am not sure what good all these licenses do.   Minutes after my app was published I find it here:

As well as other places.  Ugggg

You are probably still downloading the expansion file from Google Play and as you integrate services like IAP, it can help minimize hacking of your IAPs.

I can’t say this with certainty but it sounds like your app is being found on a downloading/indexing site where people can find your app there and are potentially getting a legit Google APK file that will use Google Play to do those protected things through Google.  They probably make money from ads on their site. Unless they have hacked your app to break you, it’s probably just more reach for you.
