Am using latest Version 2014.2189 (2014.3.6) of FREE Corona SDK.
Have got the Facebook example working from the samples.
And had an issue yesterday and it was that my settings for Facebook on my handset was not on for my app.
Can get to it on iPhone5 iOS 7.1 SETTINGS>FACEBOOK.
(hope this helps anyone with same issues).
OK even though I have working and I have read all information I could find, I have some questions unanswered about using the Facebook API Library.
- I am using one of my other live app store ID’s as the current app ID from iTunes Connect was not liked by Facebook (as it could not find my app in the App Store).
Now the guides and documents at Corona suggest you can use the ID before binary upload, and this is not the case for me. Yes I can access my ID before binary upload, but it can not be used on the Facebook App side until live.
So in theory I have to upload to iTunes before submitting app in Facebook, then update app?
I know I can code in a way to detect if Facebook is active and display a link to Facebook page or something if not available. But honestly would like to submit an app with working Facebook API from the start.
Also until the App is live and submitted on the Facebook side, only I will be able to use the Facebook functionality (which makes sense).
So… How do I submit an app with working Facebook API from day one?
- Next question is more simple to ask
If a user has said no to the app authorisation popup, is the only way to get authorisation to go on the device settings?
As on my phone I must have done this. I had to manually goto my Facebook settings and change to ON before the login worked correctly.
It may be worth noting that I DO have the Facebook app on my phone, and when I am happy with testing will try without the app installed. (just I feel most people will have installed rather than not).
Anyway I thank the forum community for any help I may get!
This is my first post in here, and I hope this all makes sense!
Im quite new (very) to Corona SDK, but am loving it all so far
Have three Corona apps in store so far
Was disappointed when I first thought Facebook was for Pro Corona users, but am happy that got the demo template working on my FREE account.
Just need these few bits answered and will be able to make my custom Facebook module
All the best !
