I was thinking about adding Facebook features to my app… mainly, when a user beats his/her personal high score, it would post to thier wall.
I was starting to create a Facebook App ID, but it appears in order to get that I need to be verified (to see if I am human, it appears), and tehy request a cell phone number or credit card number… neither of which I really would like to share with fb.
Has anyone gone through this verification? I am worried for no reason?

Hey there,
Yes - a huge number of us have gone through this verification.
I’ve never heard of anyone having an issue with it (and I’ve helped a LOT of people set up FB app stuff over the past year or so) and I really wouldn’t worry.
(For the record they don’t call you to verify anything, or ever charge your card.)

Thanks Peach,
That helps me a bit. Since everything on Facebook is available forever, I am a bit nervous about providing details like that. I guess a cell phone number is the lesser of the 2 bits they want. [import]uid: 114363 topic_id: 22869 reply_id: 91449[/import]
I understand that - I think when concerned about this kind of thing using a cell phone is best; I believe it’s safe but if anything ever happened it isn’t hard to change your number.
Good luck with it!
