I’m in the process of prototyping a Parts Lookup system, currently as a Web App.
I keep wondering whether I’d be better off to switch it to be an App using Corona.
The jest of communications is XML to a server, which I have under control via lua sockets.
The concern is the selection process of year, make, model, etc. In html I use multiple select boxes, built on the fly using ASP.
I’m hoping that perhaps some more experienced developer is curious to take a look and willing to provide some feedback.
What I’m looking for re feedback is:
- Can I do an equivalent in Corona? Perhaps even better, maybe?
- Assuming yes, the pros and cons of Corona vs Web App. I realize that distribution might be more limited as a free App but it would perhaps allow for a better user experience, eventually?
I guess what I’m really hoping for is that if the feedback says “keep it as a Web App” I can quit the pondering and concentrate on the task instead of continuously wondering if it would be better as an App using Corona.
