Feature Request - split window

1.9 is awesome!  And I know you are hard at work, but I’ll ask…

Any chance of adding a split editor window feature?

Greatly needed for large files so that you can work on 2 areas in 1 file.

I do find myself scrolling to the top (to see some defined variables) and then back down to a function many times.

Thanks!

I second this request. Also, I would like to have more control over how I can see two documents concurrently and scroll through them side by side. I can do this right now using the float feature but its a lot of hassle to get two sources aligned nicely and ready to go. Either that or I’m missing how to do it. Thanks

Hello John and ksan,

There is a way to do this: See the screenshot below:

You may also want to use bookmarks if you find yourself going back and forth to the same place. Also, if you keep pressing ctrl-q it will go to the last edit, 2 edits ago, etc. This might be more effective than a split screen.

M.Y,

That would work!  I didn’t know this was available.  Thanks for letting me know.

Very cool…
