For which iOS version should I build my app?

For which iOS version should I build my app? When I build for the latest version (11. x), the app does not run on devices with iOS 10.3 (for example, my iPhone 5C). Is it even possible to upload apps for older versions (iOS 10.3) to the store? Or do I always have to build for the latest iOS version? Can all users with older devices not download my app?

I look forward to your answers.

Corona supports the current OS and several older versions. If you build with iOS 11 (as the most recent builds support), your app should run on iOS 8, 9 and 10 as well.  It will not run on iOS 7 and earlier.

Apple requires you build for the latest iOS anyway.

Your app should run on iOS 10 without issue. If you’re having problems, it would be nice to know the error your getting.

@Rob: Thank you for your explanation. Now I have understood the basics and my app is already for testing at Apple.
