Forum Requests!

Hi guys,
I have a few requests for the forum.
I would like to be able to easily see and access all the topics I have subscribed to and also a list of all the topics that I have started. This would really help keeping the forum itself as a personal reference.

If you click “my account” next to the search box, and then click “track” it will give you a list of things you’ve posted in, and their read states. Does that cover both cases you’re thinking of? [import]uid: 3 topic_id: 2248 reply_id: 6790[/import]

A very useful forum feature, that is not implemented right now, is “Most recent topics”. It is used in most of community sites in the web and almost all the forum-builder scripts support it as an internal functionality or as a plug-in. I know it is very easy to add it here too and it would be very convenient for ansca forum members.

Right now, we have to constantly check all the forum sections in the forum homepage to see if a subforum has a recent new-post-time. Even with this optical search for recent posts we usually miss an udated topic that is placed as second in a subforum and is not placed in homepage. So the only way for members is to constantly check inside the subforums for recent topics (which creates unwanted server overload, besides user clicks).

Thanks

@seanh Thanks for pointing it out. Awesome. Is there a way to unsubscribe to a topic? [import]uid: 8192 topic_id: 2248 reply_id: 6805[/import]

That’s actually an excellent question. I just double checked and that feature was turned off for non admins! Sorry about that.

There’s now a “subscriptions” tab in the my account area to manage what you get alerts for. [import]uid: 3 topic_id: 2248 reply_id: 6830[/import]
