Forum search

Sorry, if this sounds silly. But what is the best way to search for something in the forum? Each time I did a search, it returns a list of recent posts but not to actual post where I can view the information.

Thanks in advance. [import]uid: 70056 topic_id: 30519 reply_id: 330519[/import]

I was wondering the exact same thing… [import]uid: 13507 topic_id: 30519 reply_id: 122279[/import]

I use google for the most part now.

Forum search is pretty useless for now. It never finds the topics you want.

Say i’m searching for a very specific post, like this, and look for ‘Forum search’, you would expect this post to be on top, cause it’s a new post. But it doesn’t even show up in the results.

Seems like it doesn’t use subject field to search for things…

As Budershank says, just use google - usually a search like ‘corona remove event listeners’ or ‘corona spritesheets’ will bring up relevant forum topics as the first result. [import]uid: 93133 topic_id: 30519 reply_id: 122303[/import]

Yes, i’ve posted this issue several times and still no improvements. Thanks for bringing it up again!

Is the Corona team looking into it? To rely on google search to find forum posts doesn’t sound too integrated though it does the job. I hope something can be done on this because this is something very basic and I do not see such issues in other forums. Wrong choice of forum software? Hey guys-

Yes, we are aware of this and yes we are looking into it and *YES* the current forum setup is terrible and needs to burn.

Currently I believe most of the team use Google to search, I know I do - but this is something we really want to get sorted out in the near future. It is less pressing than features and fixes for the SDK so it is taking awhile, however it is going to happen and, (I’m told,) very soon.

I pretty much live on the forum so I totally empathize - hang in there a little longer though, please. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 30519 reply_id: 122576[/import]

Hey everyone. As Peach says, we are well aware of the current forum shortcomings. We are trying to address them as soon as possible. Thanks for bearing with us.
