FPS 30 or 60, that is the question?

What FPS do you use and why?

I guess 60 FPS should look more naturally but can it actually have side-effects on low-end devices ?

Are there any rules when to use 30 and when to use 60 ?

Regards,

Damir.

60 fps produces smoother transitions and animations but its double the updates which translates to more CPU time.   If you’re building a utility app or business app that’s not doing a lot of animation or if you’re expecting to support older devices, then 30fps make sense, but with most modern hardware, there isn’t much of a reason to not do 60 fps.
