Framerate issues on galaxy tab 3, but not ipod touch 5th gen.

So here is a comparison chart of the 2 devices.

Is it normal for android to just run worse even if the specs are better? Or is the krait processor just bad even though it has 700 more mhz?

The app is set to 60fps in letterbox mode.

Memory usage according to (system.getInfo(“textureMemoryUsed”)/1000000) is around 6-10 mb.

on DDMS it shows

28% of the cpu is idle

and 23% of mem is inactive.

I found CBEffects recently and since I added that the framerate on the galaxy tab tanked about 10-15 fps. Even before that though it was still only at about 50fps with minor hiccups. (Which isn’t that terrible)

Still though, the ipod is running smooth as butter.

Any help at all really would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks!

Depends on the gpu also. Samsung are notorious for shipping two versions of their products, one with a good gpu, the other with a crappy one.

They do this with their phone products, not sure if it applies to their tablets also

Dahhh crap… I didn’t even think about the gpu for whatever reason (I feel kinda dumb now :P). That’s gotta be it.  That is the only thing that makes any sense in this case. Thanks
