After our first app, a children’s animated book, we decided to launch a free lite version of it (the first 4 chapters) as a marketing tool. It made enough downloads, but led to almost no sales from the full version, maybe because of the story (quit easy at first, develops differently eventually). Now we are about to launch a new -free or very inexpensive story- that is like a prequel to the existing one, to hopefully lead to it. We can’t decide what to do with the old free version. Is it pointless to coexist with the other two, or we should keep it anyway? It had apr. 1000 downloads so far.
Thank you for your attention, we appreciate it. [import]uid: 13028 topic_id: 33552 reply_id: 333552[/import]
One thing you can do with free apps, is cross promote your other apps with it. If you have a free app with sizable downloads, do an update that give them a screen to see your other apps. You can also use In App Purchases to have them unlock the rest of the levels too.
