Corona Labs is pleased to announce Corona Ads, our new built-in monetization plugin and dashboard. With this platform, you have access to banner and interstitial ads from a wide variety of network providers with the best eCPMs and fill rates.
Our goal with Corona Ads is to provide the easiest possible solution to make money with your Corona apps. Because it’s managed in-house and is built into the SDK, integration is extremely fast. That means more time for you to focus on development and design.
Getting started
To get started, simply log into your existing Corona developer account. Under your user name, you will see a new link: View Corona Ads Dashboard. Click on the link to go to the dashboard, accept the terms of services, and you’ll be ready to add your app to the portal.
Once you fill out your app information, you will be taken to the Integration page which shows you the code you need to add to your build.settings
file and any Lua files which utilize ads.
You can visit the My Apps tab to see your unique API key and a few default ad placements pre-created for you. If you need additional placements, you can add them and give them relevant names for your app.
Once you’ve initialized Corona Ads with your unique API key, simply call coronaAds.show() with a valid placement (there’s no need to pre-load ads before showing them).
For complete details on the available API calls, see our Corona Ads documentation.
Notes
Corona Ads currently supports banner and interstitial ads from multiple network partners. Also, Corona Ads can work alongside other monetization plugins (with the exception of the Facebook Audience Network). In order to deliver fully optimized ad experiences, it can take up to 24 hours after creating a new ad placement before ads start showing up.
Conclusion
Corona Ads is an easy-to-implement service for earning revenue with your app. Ready to get started? Simply visit your Corona developer portal and proceed to the Corona Ads dashboard.
