Plugins make up a major piece of the Corona eco-system. They allow the product to grow without increasing the core app size.
This lets us keep your app bundles small while creating features you may want to include in your app.
Plugins also allow us to provide rapid updates without requiring new builds. See a list of what is currently available in the Corona Marketplace.
What you won’t see in the list are the plugins we are currently developing. While there is always a chance that priorities can change, here’s an update on what we are working on.
Coming soon!
On the heals of the Facebook Audience Network (FAN) plugin we announced on Friday Jan 15, look for these plugins, coming soon:
Google Analytics – This plugin will allow your app to use Google Analytics to track events and usage, which will help you gain insights into customer behavior, and help you grown your audience.
Hockey App – Hockey App is an app testing platform, which lets you test apps on both iOS and Android. This plugin will provide valuable features like crash reports, analytics about your testers, and more.
Corona Ads – We hope to have the initial plugin out to beta testers by the end of January with a wider audience rollout towards the end of February. See the recent update on the blog!
On the horizon…
Crashlytics – This plugin will also provide you with crash reports and analytics for both iOS and Android to help you improve your apps.
Apsalar– This plugin will give you access to analytics that will help you improve your return on investment, segment your audience, and provide custom messaging to them.
Applovin – This plugin will help you use data to reach new consumers on mobile through marketing automation and analytics.
Going forward
While this list isn’t exhaustive, it should provide you with some insight into what we are working on. Keep in mind that while we can’t control all aspects of development on these plugins, we are constantly working on new features and trying new things.
Help us decide what to work on next. Suggest a new feature through our feedback site or vote on an existing feature request. We encourage you to vote on plugins that you want. If you don’t find one, please create a new entry and get people to vote it up. Learn more about this on the forums.
