Thank you very much for the kind words!

We have so much new ideas to further improve the game, but so little time as we are working on many projects.

We have so much new ideas to further improve the game, but so little time as we are working on many projects.

This is getting more and more ridiculous.

Our game was rejected. Here is the “explanation”:

Specifically, we noticed your app includes “Brazil 2014” in the app name. Also, your app includes “world cup, brazil, 2014” in the keywords.

We named the game “Fun Football Brazil World Championship 2014 soccer game”.

"Brazil" and “2014” as forgotten keywords??? (we even did not use “Brazil 2014”)

Your thoughts?

What they said before that phrase?

Reasons

  • 8.5: Use of protected 3rd party material
(trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, otherwise proprietary content)
requires a documented rights check which must be provided upon request

8.5

We found that your app contains features that may infringe on rights owned by FIFA, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

Specifically,
we noticed your app includes “Brazil 2014” in the app name. Also, your
app includes “world cup, brazil, 2014” in the keywords.

First they didn’t allowed us to use the name “Memory” in our game “Best Memory 4 Kids”, now this.

So FIFA copyrighted the words “Brazil” and “2014” ?

They have the trademark for “World Cup”,  “Brazil 2014”, … so that is why you were rejected.

You icon (at least the Android one) also uses the Brazil 2014 logo, what would be a trademark infringement (unless you have FIFA authorization to use it)

We named the game “Fun Football Brazil World Championship 2014 soccer game”.

So there is no phrase “Brazil 2014”.

It would be crazy that all sentences which includes those two words “infringe on rights”.

It is crazy enough that someone can copyright phrase “Brazil 2014” or “World Cup” or “Memory”…

It is not in all sentences, but clearly you game (being a soccer game) remates to the FIFA World Cup. It is all about meaning and intention.

If your game were a tennis game, I believe that Apple would allow you to use Brazil 2014.

But sorry dude, I am with Apple in this one. If I were you I would rename the game and remove any FIFA trademark or logo. Even on Google Play, if someone related to FIFA find your game, they can make Google shut it down within a click.

You can check some of FIFA trademarks specially for the World Cup 2014 below:

http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/organisation/marketing/brand-protection/intellectual-property/index.html

We made a soccer game with Brazil World Cup included. Potential players should somehow know this, right?

Now, for the game name I could somehow accept it. But keywords !? As separate words?

If someone one day copyrights the zebra, we will not be allowed to cross the street anymore…

This is getting more and more ridiculous.
