Hi,

I’m soft launching a new website / blog early next week : -

The site is intended to provide game / media art assets at an affordable price range. I would also like to take requests for the type of assets that you would like to see in the future.

In this interim stage, where the site is in progression, I have been looking into the best ways of offering the resources to you, the enduser, in the best possible way. I have been lead to 2 possible ways to do this : -

( A ) Paypal - Simple paypal payment system, where the enduser pays for the content at an affordable price. Seems more professional.
( B ) Ad - Based - All content is free, hosted on free file sharing sites, but I make money from ad-based links ( such as Adf.ly ) to the sites.

I’ve decided to initially go with option B and see how this fares, and I’ve uploaded some assets already : -

Hi, I will be working on more animated objects, including updates to the stars and coins which will also include animated frames, I’ll post updates as and when !

I’m sorry you find it a pain to use B, I wanted to make sure the wider audience had access to the resources, regardless of whether the individual or group has funding or none at all, I put a lot of time and effort into the art, and the only way I can monetise my efforts is via the adf.ly links, I specifically chose adf.ly as they are less intrusive on the user ( 5 second wait time ) than some advert options. I also chose a quick file sharing site, zippyshare, which does not have adverts, and does not have any waiting time, you can download instantly at a decent speed without any interruption.

I can only please some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time ! :slight_smile:

That’s something I could consider a bit further down the road, once the site is established a bit more, as it currently stands the adf.ly links give very little return on a per click basis, so it would take a while to make any serious money beyond small change at present.
