Hello,
Corona is a great SDK to accelerate game development in iOS and Android, and in the hands of creative people this could really help develop great 2D games.
Coming from pure obj-C development, we have tried Corona and quite loved it (honest!). We have created Stack the Stuff, well-polished physics game using Corona http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/stack-the-stuff/id428835861 and we are planning to release our next game using game publisher service such as Chillingo to get much more exposure. We have got a talk with Chillingo and BigFish representative and they require us to implement their native SDK (Crystals leaderboard for Chillingo for instance).
However, there’s no way to do that now.
So, really, native code integration is important if Corona developers wants to publish their games via game publisher. Unity is supported by Chillingo because Unity’s people though far by implementing native code integration via plugin.
note: i know there’s enterprise support thingie, but i feel like creating a new forum thread so anyone could give their opinition. This is our experience, is there anyone have a story like this? [import]uid: 41267 topic_id: 12630 reply_id: 312630[/import]
