[GAME] [STEAM] Retro Football Boss

After 2 years and 11 days of hard work (so far!), Retro Football Boss was yesterday published on Steam Early Access for PC & Mac, through Plug-In Digital.

It is a unique football management game where you can start in any season from 1888 onwards with all the real players and competitions. It has been a labour of love and only made entirely possible by the amazing Corona SDK that continues to change my life for the better after I first discovered it five years ago.

It was originally intended to be for mobile devices but halfway through development desktop builds became available and it took on an entirely new lease of life. It will come out on iOS, Android etc once Early Access has finished.

Congrats!

Congrats Nick.  Best of luck on sales and early adoption rates.

Contrats Nick.

I’m curious though… You surely have to obtain the FIFA license in order to use real player & competition names, right?

If not i’d be careful. There are still AAA games that don’t pay for the whole FIFA license, and as a result, cannot display the official club names, competition names or player names… depending on the license they purchased. There are different tiers IIRC. An example of this is PES (pro evolution soccer)

We have taken advice and should be ok. None of the players in the game are FifPro members. No sponsored competition names are used nor are trademarked club names.
