These two features have probably been suggested before, but it seems worth bumping as 1.2 gets planned. [import]uid: 1560 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 300475[/import]
Added into our feature list for 1.2

Is “In App” purchase still on the Corona roadmap? I have a client that I think Corona would be a good fit but it needs to support this feature. Otherwise, I will need to go the Xcode route. My need is one month away and would like to know which direction I should go.
Thanks,

Sorry I had missed this post earlier… We are still looking at this, in light of new Apple stuff in 4.0. We’re unfortunately not super close to delivering anything. However, can you give us more details on your requirements?
[import]uid: 54 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 3183[/import]
My client offers some training tutorials and wants me to create a free iPhone/iPad app that users can download and try some sample content. After they review the content they can click a button and order one or more paid tutorials as they become available (through the iTunes store).
All the content and purchase needs to be through the same app because he doesn’t want to have to create and submit a new app every time new tutorials are available for purchase. He also likes the idea that Apple handles all the purchase details too.
I can do this now using Xcode and Objective-C but I thought this would be a good fit for Corona if In-App Purchases was going to be supported in the very near future (i.e. 1 month).
Thanks,
Tom [import]uid: 6119 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 3185[/import]
Any update on In-App purchases? I see it on the roadmap for Game Center Q3, but since Social Networking is already in GC Alpha 3, does that mean we are close to seeing In-App purchases? [import]uid: 8194 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 5240[/import]
Any news on this? I am very interested.
Thanks [import]uid: 8192 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 5251[/import]
Hi guys!
Any news about this subject?
I’m starting to develop a game that will depends entirely on this feature.
Can I count that will Corona delivers this feature on the next three months? [import]uid: 6005 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 5842[/import]
I’d like to add my support to this request for both, specifically in the context of Corona Game Edition.
With the announcement of GameKit I’m specifically interested in Leaderboards and Achievements support for our game. I understand Corona supports OpenFeint which looks like a great service as it’s cross platform but I expect GameCenter will pick up momentum very quickly as a native iPhone app.
I’m also interested in InApp Purchase for being able to have users download additional game content (additional game episodes) from the same app.
Please let us know if these are in the works or on the short list.
Thanks! [import]uid: 8692 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 5894[/import]
Will the Game Edition support GameKit? It really should. [import]uid: 8545 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 5900[/import]
+1 for both GameCenter and in app purchases. These two are *must* features!
Another super *must* (maybe No.1) feature is of course device resolution independence. [import]uid: 7356 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 5901[/import]
It’s been a while since a Corona official last replied on this topic, so I would very much appreciate any updates you guys could give on this.
I think there is far far more potentional for any app should IAP be available.
Even something very basic would be ok, so that we could build upon it untill a more complete version is available
Edit: I mean that in the sense that nothing would be downloaded or anything when a user purchases something, but rather a flag would be set or a url would be called and the server would handle the action (for cloud based apps), that should be possible right?
Don’t get me wrong, I think its great what you guys are doing, but this is the #1 thing I’d want before buying Corona for the full price (currently on the $99 offer) [import]uid: 7980 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 5967[/import]
@Magenda, we do have features in Beta 8 for device resolution independence. Please see Dynamic Content Scaling and Dynamic Image Resolution in our docs. [import]uid: 54 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 6009[/import]
Regarding the in app purchasing/GameCenter/GameKit thread, I know this isn’t very satisfying but we don’t have any announcements at this time. However, we are following this closely and we realize its importance to our developers. [import]uid: 54 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 6010[/import]
That’s good to hear as well, be sure to tell us to when you know more [import]uid: 7980 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 6016[/import]
Thanks, I’m glad you guys are watching this. I think it’ll be important for marketing games as the social tie in (achievements) will be a big deal when competing with native apps. [import]uid: 8692 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 6147[/import]
I have to second this, I need to have in-app purchases for iOS. [import]uid: 5022 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 6241[/import]
I third this.
Anyone raises a fourth?
c. [import]uid: 24 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 6252[/import]
I fourth and fifth it! [import]uid: 8192 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 6271[/import]
Actually, I’m really sad to know that we are still far from using the In-App Purchase feature.
The only way for me is stay on the Apple hands and the daily pain of developing in ObjectiveC. [import]uid: 6005 topic_id: 475 reply_id: 6275[/import]
