gameNetwork.show() has not working on Android from June 1 2012.

The API “gameNetwork.show()” worked with out problem until May 31. (Openfeint)
But suddenly, it hasn’t working from yesterday (on June 1).

It only shows “Loading Feint…” forever!

The same code has no problem on iPhone which shows openfeint dashboard.

What’s wrong with the API? or Openfeint?

It seems no problem with gameNetwork.init().
Because, I can see the welcome message - “Welcome back XXX”

And with other openfeint embeded apps (not Corona app) works without problem
on my android device.

We are having the same problem as well. It doesn’t seem to work on the Android but Iphone is just fine. Can the Ansca team provide us with any answers? [import]uid: 39846 topic_id: 27048 reply_id: 110384[/import]

Yeah, I took openfeint out of our android versions today because of this. It would crash the app on the first run since OpenFeint would try to pop up. I also submitted a bug report with a logfile, so hopefully they’ll fix it soon. [import]uid: 135827 topic_id: 27048 reply_id: 110405[/import]

I had the same problem on the same day and my apk was already built so since we were only using open feint for achievements and we are using our own online leaderboards we decided to take out open feint all together. Its better anyway since we wont have to remove open feint once Gree completly stops supporting it. [import]uid: 126161 topic_id: 27048 reply_id: 110422[/import]

I would encourage you to signup and check out our service http://gameminion.com . We offer leaderboards, achievements, Push notification, multiplayer and more, ready to go, so you don’t need to roll up your own service.
Drop me a message if you have any questions of clarifications mohamed(at)gameminion.com [import]uid: 144378 topic_id: 27048 reply_id: 110465[/import]

Any new developments on this issue?

I did notice today that I am seeing this issue with other Android games not developed with Corona…just downloaded Fruit Ninja and it hangs on the openfeint screen as well.

Looks like OpenFeint may be all but gone now…

Yea i dont think anything will be done about this, I pulled my apps from review and resubmitted them. [import]uid: 126161 topic_id: 27048 reply_id: 112050[/import]

The problem resolved! (at least in Korea)
I’ve done nothing but the problem disappeared.
Openfeint connection is well done without problem.

I don’t know why.
I guess it seems the problem about openfeint server not Corona API.
I’d like to listen to the opinion of Corona SDK Developer. [import]uid: 104920 topic_id: 27048 reply_id: 112051[/import]

It started working for us too (in US). I’m hesitantly putting openfeint back into our android app. [import]uid: 135827 topic_id: 27048 reply_id: 112119[/import]

Can anyone verify that their leaderboards and achievements are working on android? Looks like openfeint started working for me finally but now it shows that I am unlocking achievements and getting high scores but when I go into openfeint it states this game doesn’t have leaderboards or achievements…working on iOS for the same app.

Game is approved in openfeint for both android and iOS.

Any ideas? [import]uid: 5786 topic_id: 27048 reply_id: 113111[/import]

@bonesmalone133, I haven’t set up achievements, so I can’t verify, but the leaderboards are working on Nook (daily build 840).

Thanks Naomi…I figured out my issue, it was my stupid mistake. I didn’t realize that even after getting the app approved for Android use by OpenFeint (previously was iOS only) I had to go into every leaderboard and achievement and manually select that I want to use them for Android.

All is good now, thanks for the help though!

Hey, Clark @bonesmalone133, glad to hear you’ve sorted this out.

Cheers,
