Gamepad accessory support

There are a handful of gamepad accessories for iphone and other devices out there, and this guy is looking for help kickstarting his controller idea:

So not only was I wondering if Ansca Mobile wanted to kickstart something like that (I’m not affiliated, just throwing it out there) but my thought is also that we could develop a more or less standard class (is that the word?) for supporting these devices. I know the vast majority of iphone gamers and games just as soon use the touchscreen, but it would be an aspect of smartphone gaming that I could see Corona games be the leader in.

That’s pretty sick! I’ve actually seen similar things, but nothing as cool as that. Corona will probably not support anything like that any time soon since their isn’t a huge market for it. I really don’t know too many people who own something like that. Just not the highest priority. I think they need to make Corona work for Blackberry and Windows phone before anything else.

There are also a handful of suction-stick things you can put on your screen like d-pads etc, but they cover up a lot of screen.

I’m thinking you could take a handful of little almost-flat rubber pieces about 1/4" in diameter each, that you could stick to the screen right where you want them for each game. Time to experiment!

Edit: plastic, not rubber… [import]uid: 117490 topic_id: 20358 reply_id: 79742[/import]
