Dear Community,
TL;DR - Use this project to demonstrate your issue and attach it to your posts: https://github.com/roaminggamer/RG_FreeStuff/raw/master/AskEd/askEdStarter.zip
For People Who Read:
I enjoy answering well asked questions here in the forums and want you to get the help you need.
However, I have noticed a gradual decline in the quality of questions and I’d like to help with that too.
The biggest problems I see are:
- Short and or poorly written questions (capitalization, spelling, generally abysmal formatting).
- I posted about this a long time ago. Read if you have time.
- No details about your build and target environments provided.
- Don’t make us guess. Tell us the exact version of Corona you’re using, OS you’re building on, and details of your target/test devices.
- No useful example code provided.
The last item is what I hope to address. I see folks post either SUPER LONG and totally useless code dumps or no code at all. Neither is useful.
The forums includes two features you should be using.
- You can post code directly in the forms and format it easily and nicely.

- You can attach small sample projects.

To make it easier for you guys to make small sample projects, I am supplying a starter project for you. To use it:
- Download it here: https://github.com/roaminggamer/RG_FreeStuff/raw/master/AskEd/askEdStarter.zip
- Edit main.lua.
- Follow directions in the file.
- Test your code on your own system/device.
- Zip it up and attach it here (see image above)
Tip: Over time I will make this starter kit easier and easier to use. If you can think of ways to improve it, please let me know. For now it is very slim.
