Get the current track playing from iOS

I’d like to be able to get the current track playing on the device - just like the phone or watch controls that seem to be able to see the current track and time that iTunes/Podcast are playing in the background.

Is this something exposed through Corona? Doesn’t seem to be in the iTunes plugin.

Hi Nathan,

Are you intending to use the iTunes plugin to actually play the song? Or do you just want to “monitor” which song is playing via the device’s own iTunes app?

I won’t be kicking it off, just monitoring track name & time.

Hi Nathan,

I don’t believe this is possible via the SDK directly. You’d probably need to use either Enterprise or CoronaCards to “talk” between Corona and the native OS.
