I have searched through the forums and have found very little mention of Getjar. I have recently received the following email from Getjar:
We want to feature your paid app as ‘App of the day’ on Getjar.
It’s free promotion to our 100 million users worldwide.
Join hundreds of developers and send us your APK.
We do all the work! Read more info and sign up here: https://developer.getjar.com/android/paid-apps/
You have nothing to lose, start growing your android revenue today!
If you follow the link it outlines the process:
1. Update your paid app package name to add .gold at the end. For example, com.appname needs to be changed to com.appname.gold
2. Provide a link to your APK file containing the new package name using the below form.
3. Getjar will wrap your app with the Getjar SDK and return the new APK to you for publishing.
4. Once it is live on Google Play, Getjar will promote it to Getjar users.
Do any of you have experience putting your apps on Getjar, particularly paid apps?
Do you publish a new app to google play with the .gold suffix AND keep the original paid app or is the .gold version supposed to replace the existing paid app?
Are there any downsides to putting an app on Getjar?
Thanks in advance for your comments and insight!
