Getting ADB to work?

So I’m almost finished with my app and I’m ready to start testing! The problem? I don’t have an Android device to test with. So I downloaded the AVD and created one, I now have one open, but the problem is, I can’t install my app on the emulated device!

I’m using ADB, but every time I run it, it scrolls down a bunch of commands and then closes. I have no idea what’s going on and I’ve looked it up, any help?

I don’t have any information or troubleshooting for your specific situation with ADB, but I do have a word of caution:

Do not assume that testing in an emulator will allow you to detect all issues/bugs/behaviors that your app will exhibit on a device. I’ve seen several issues occur on different devices and different situations that testing on as many physical devices is the best option before delivering the app to the marketplace.

Just a friendly piece of advice.

Thanks Panc, I also discovered a way to fix it.

Shift+right clicking platform-tools and then selecting “open command window here.”
