getting global coordinates of object in group

im trying to figure out the global(screen) coordinates of an object that is currently in a rotated group.

i thought that object.parent.parent:insert(object)—moving the object out of its group into the main stage/screen group would transform its coordinates however the result of print(object.x) remains the same before and after the insert… at the local group coordinates…as if the group had not been rotated.

for example the object.x while in the group is 16 after moving it to what i assume is the main group for the screen it remains at 16

It seems to remove it from current group as if it had not been translated
i hope this is a clear enough description…HELP!!! [import]uid: 85717 topic_id: 17100 reply_id: 317100[/import]
