Hi folks. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get my app onto the Kindle Fire for testing. How is this done? [import]uid: 79620 topic_id: 24056 reply_id: 324056[/import]
make the .apk, put it on a webserver and then using a browser navigate to the server and click on the .apk, it will download and install on the device.
You will also have to enable the install 3rd party/non-market apps, Steps to do so
- Tap on the battery/wifi icon on the top right corner
- Tap on the + more button
- Now from the list scroll down to the device
- Now look for the “Allow Intallation of Applications” and set it to ON
have fun testing your app.
You can also try the other way, using the Android SDK and terminal command line stuff. [import]uid: 3826 topic_id: 24056 reply_id: 97009[/import]
Cool thanks. I’ll have to try tonight as my wife took the Kindle with her to work

I also have an issue with this device because I’m in Canada and it needs a US credit card to allow apps to be installed, but books are fine though. I really hope they get the Kindle Fire over here in Canada soon. [import]uid: 79620 topic_id: 24056 reply_id: 97085[/import]
Mate, I am in Australia and I can do nothing on the Kindle in terms of Amazon’s offerings. So I can only put my development apps made in several frameworks including the one from this company.
Did you look at Bluestacks? It allows you to run your android apps on a PC here’s a little article I wrote on it at http://howto.oz-apps.com/2012/03/device-woes-fragmentation.html
and you could also find other aricles of interest on my http://howto.oz-apps.com site. [import]uid: 3826 topic_id: 24056 reply_id: 97090[/import]
